The Extra-ordinary Ministers of the Eucharist are commissioned to assist the priest in the distribution of Holy Communion (always under both kinds) at every Mass.
They also assist in taking communion to the sick at home or in hospital.
The Ministers meet twice every year, usually in conjunction with Advent/Christmas and with the feast of the Body and Blood of Christ.
We use 64 ministers per week in the parish. This is effected by a Sunday Rota and by an organiser appointed for each weekday
You can contact a Eucharistic Minister via your messenger, area team or through the Parish Priest.
If you have someone at home who is sick, even for a short time, please let the Parish Priest know.
You can do this directly or through your messenger, neighbour or Eucharistic Minister.
Arrangements can be made to bring Holy Communion for as long as is necessary.
If you have someone in hospital, then please contact the chaplains at the Southern General Hospital on 0141 339 1324.
